HOW TO GET TO NEWPORT

TRAIN

<a href="https://www.amtrak.com/home.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Amtrak</a>'s Northeast Corridor offers daily service to two nearby connecting stations: Kingston, RI (KIN): Uber/Lyft available for transportation to downtown Newport (about 20 minute drive). Providence, RI (PVD): Uber/Lyft and taxis available for transportation to downtown Newport (about 40 minute drive). Amtrak departs from Metropark (Edison, NJ), New Brunswick, Princeton, New York City, Boston, Bridgeport, Stamford and more.

PLANE

It's easiest to fly into the Providence airport (PVD) and from there drive 40 minutes to downtown Newport. Uber/Lyft services are available from the airport as well as taxis. Public transportation by bus is also available from PVD to Newport, taking approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, including transfers.

Newport is within driving distance from NY, NJ, PA, and MA.

WHERE TO STAY

Please join us in Newport for our wedding weekend. We strongly suggest booking your accommodations as soon as possible as our wedding weekend is a very popular time to visit Newport. The cutoff date for room block availability is July 13th, 2026. We have three accommodations available with special rates at The Pell, Hotel Viking, and Hammetts Hotel. There will be transportation provided to and from Rosecliff from each of these hotels.

This hotel option is located in Middletown, slightly outside of Newport, but within a 20 minute drive to Rosecliff and a 15 minute drive to downtown Newport. The link will take you to our room block. The block is for Thursday, August 27th - Saturday, August 29th. If you wish to stay an extra night, please call or book separately online as this link will only work for Thursday and Friday night. Rooms can be booked with two queen beds or one king bed. Ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft are readily available in Middletown for transportation to downtown Newport. There will be transportation provided to and from Rosecliff as well.

This hotel is now sold out. Hotel Viking is located just a 10 minute walk away from Bannisters Wharf and a 9 minute drive to Rosecliff. This hotel is undergoing major renovations this fall/winter and will be brand new for your stay in August. There will be transportation provided to Rosecliff from Hotel Viking.

Hammetts Hotel is in a great location at the center of downtown Newport. Located in Hammett's Wharf, this hotel offers beautiful views of the marina. It is about a 2 minute walk to our Welcome Party at the Bohlin and a 10 minute drive to Rosecliff. Transportation will be provided from Hammetts to Rosecliff. Using the link below, you will be led to our room block with the dates 8/27-8/29 selected. There are some rooms available on Saturday night as part of the block if you choose to stay the full weekend. You may also call the hotel front desk at (401) 324-7500 and share that you are booking under the Madalyn Braunstein and Harrison Smith Wedding Block.
